The next day we went with Megan and Erin to a children's museum. Alexa had a great time exploring with her cousins. She loved everything and we had to pry her away from every exhibit but her favorite was the drums.
When everyone else had other things going on Alexa and I visited the local parks and took walks around the neighborhood.
We went swimming at the country club and then Erin, Alexa, and Megan posed for a picture.
On Thursday we headed downtown and visited Millenium Park and saw the "bean".
Then we went to Navy Pier and explored the children's museum there. Alexa loved it too.
Afterwards we picked up some ice cream treats and waited for Aunt Deb to pick us up.
Friday morning we had a special treat. We met another little girl who had been at the same orphanage as Alexa. The girls played while the moms shared stories. We had a great visit and look forward to seeing Jenny and her mom again next time we are there.
That night we went to a pool party. Alexa had a great time swimming and dancing along with every one else. The next morning we headed back to the beach one last time.
Then we headed back home where we will stay for a while. Alexa is constantly amazing me with her changes. On our vacation she ate some canned peaches for me and yesterday she even ate some peas that came from Grandpa's garden. Tonight she "read" me a book at bedtime. She got the major point of each page. We are starting to have little conversations. Occasionally she will say "yes" instead of "NO". Oh yes, we are missing a sandal that I believe she must have thrown out the window of the car. I don't think she meant to get rid of it. I think she took it off and flung it and it flew out the window. She wants that window up now so I think it was an accident.
Every day is a new adventure!
